I cannot believe it is one month already at TIIDELab. I could remember vividly just waking up from my sleep on that fateful day when my younger brother told me about a Fellowship program for interested web developers. It was the first time I heard about TIIDELab. So, I decided to apply for the fellowship program, and it has been a wonderful experience so far. I can say for a fact this was one of my best decisions.

The facilitators did not hide the fact that it was going to be a rigorous experience. Having only spent one month, I can tell you for a fact that it has been demanding and fulfilling. After spending the week going through various programming concepts, both theoretically, through the classes and materials of study given to us, and practically, through the various projects and assignments given to fellows. I then get to meet with other Fellows on Fridays. Together, we engage in both activities and classes aimed at helping us improve our problem-solving skills.

We were first introduced to data structures and algorithm by Mr Saheed Adepoju. We were also made to realize the importance of code versioning with git. This helps us to keep track of various changes we make to our code for easy debugging and review later on. This was taken by Miss Grace. After version control, we moved to Advanced HTML and CSS by Mr Solomon Chokor. It was an immense two-week class touching almost all concept in HTML and CSS. We concluded the first month with our portfolio using some of the concepts we had learned. It felt good deploying my first ever portfolio site.

On Fridays, we go through various teachings aimed at improving our problem-solving skills. We learnt structured problem-solving, problem framing, the importance of communicating what we are doing, and more. Honestly, I do not approach problem the same way again.

It is not all learning at TIIDELab. One of the reasons I look forward to Fridays is an activity called Head-of-House(HOH) challenge. We engage in certain fun tasks aimed at selecting one fellow who would serve in a leadership position for a week.

It has been just one month and I have realized that web development is not just about writing codes alone. I realize that it is just a tool for solving problems. I always look forward to time with my other fellows for peer learning. That moment , I get to exchange ideas with fellows and discuss different topics. It is one of my favorite moments.

One month is gone and I can only be grateful for how I have been impacted so far. I look forward to the next month. Hopefully, I get to gist you about that too.
